Mother's Day Weekend in Sacramento

We spent Mother's Day weekend in a familiar place (Sacramento) so that Jenny could recharge and not have to cook or clean after spending a week alone with the kids while I was away on a business trip. Why Sacramento? Because it's cheap to stay there, close enough for comfort and offers enough interesting things to do with the kids. Of course, everything centered on the kids: where we stayed (Hilton Garden Inn), what we did and where we ate.

On a side note, the Brewster Boys love staying in hotels. I remember that the first time I ever stayed at a hotel was when I was 10 years old, and my whole family (all 6 of us) jammed into a single room at the Holiday Inn in Niagara Falls, NY. The next summer, we spent a few days at the Howard Johnson hotel in Washington, DC. I don't recall staying at another hotel until my senior year at high school, when my father and I visited a few colleges in upstate New York. Now, we travel often enough that I've been rating hotels at Tripadvisor.com every couple of months.

Happy Mother's Day!

The Brewster Boys especially enjoyed the 3-D IMAX presentation of Grand Canyon Adventure

In Old Sacramento, we took a horse and buggy ride

After the movie and the horse ride, the Brewster Boys both took a nap at the hotel
