Yet Another Article at the American Thinker by Yours Truly
My latest rant, this one on the visit by Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer to Lowell High School, is up at the American Thinker. Please let me know what you think about it.

Dear Mr. Chen,
Your article is outstanding. Perhaps you may wish to study the means for self-educated adults to break through the glass ceiling that exists in the world. I ask that you contemplate recognition for self-educated Americans, specifically adults who are well read, highly skilled, magnificently productive and creatively insightful. Just as the GED is available to anyone, the Graduate Records Exam (GRE) should be as well. Just as admission to the GED does not require a highschool diploma, no pre-requisite of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution should exist for admission to the GRE. Simply put, if a person reads and comprehends and uses material and knowledge required for a college degree without the luxury of a professorial promenade, more power to that person. After passing the GED, a self-taught person should by all means be offered the opportunity to take the GRE and when passed, to complete an accredited college degree of self determination having persevered through the education offered by the school of hard knocks. Having completed my own traditional doctoral degree and being an alumni of five reputable schools, I have witnessed universities at their best and at their worst. There is no valid reason requiring anyone to pay an institution for a "degree" that one can earn independently. As far as "no child left behind" is concerned, why stop with the child? "No adult left behind" is as significant a call for such just action!
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Melinda Moody Allen, Doctor of Musical Arts

Do you read Chinese?
welcome to my blog if you do!
Dr. Allen,
I agree whole-heartedly with your comments on the GED and the self-made individual. I am also a proponent of home-schooling. It worked for Lincoln after all!
?????,
Unfortunately, I don't read Chinese. I'll ask my wife to take a look at your website, though.
Thanks to you both for stopping by.
