Monterey Trip Report, 2008 Edition
It was time for our annual trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which was an overnight excursion over the Presidents' Day weekend. As usual, we went to the aquarium over two days. This allowed us to carefully manage the boys' sensory input, which generally overloads (re: meltdown) at the 3-hour mark.
We never seem to tire of the amazing displays of sea life in the aquarium. My personal favorite is the jellyfish section, while the boys love screaming "shark" in the Kelp Forest and Outer Bay displays. Have I ever mentioned that Punky always carries a small leopard shark or killer whale with him where ever he goes?
The Brewster Boys love the Aquarium, but they seem to enjoy staying in hotels even more. They love ordering room service, watching On Demand Disney cartoons, and especially jumping on the beds.

Glad you guys had another great time at the aquarium. Heads-up for the Brewster Boys: our Splash Zone galleries, complete with penguins, cuttlefish, sea dragons and seahorses, reopens on March 17.
And if you're only coming once a year, you're likely to miss our young white sharks -- which we tend to bring to the aquarium in the last summer and return to the wild in January or February.
All the best,
Ken Peterson
