Not Quite Summertime
Last weekend was so hot, that we sped down to Toys R Us (the kids' favorite store) and splurged to buy ($40) the last available small inflatable pool. Unfortunately, we only got to use it for one day before Global Warming ended and we hit a mini Ice Age--which still continues to this day.
I hope we get to use it again, because it took me about 40 minutes to blow it up with a bicycle pump. I was pooped afterwards. Anyways, here's the least embarrassing shot from our one day with a backyard pool.
It's nice to have a pool in the backyard

next time use an electric weed blower to get most of the air in it (might take two people), a lot of air will not make it in the pool, but you should have it 90% full in about a minute. Use the bicycle pump to finish it off.
Besides the weed blower (I hear there's a lot of weed blowers in Berkeley) when you hit yard sales see if you find a small compressor used for airbrushing. I see them around here for $5-$15 and they do the job all the way.
