I'm Back
After a nearly two year hiatus, I am considering re-joining the ranks of bloggers. So much has happened to me since my last post, so I won't go into details. Just pay attention to this website over the next few weeks. Note the new blog template!
During my absence, it seems that blogs have taken over the world. I now get a majority of my news from blogs--in many cases, directly from the source. I can hear directly from a soldier on the frontlines in Iraq, and bypass the lies published in the New York Times. I can see bloggers dissect Dan Rather's fake Bush-is-AWOL memos in near-real-time, and watch CBS/60 Minutes executives panic as their scoop is proven to be based on a crude forgery. Last week, I witnessed the destruction in Southeast Asia wrought by the earthquake-induced tsunami through photos and video posted by bloggers without having to hear anti-US drivel ("Bush is insensitive" and the "US is cheap") from the likes of the Washington Post and CNN.
Yes, it is a brave new world out there. And I'm still an optimist. In the meantime, enjoy the photographs above.
